Lauren turns a year old in less than two weeks and it sure seems like she is growing up. She now puts her balls, socks and anything else under the furniture so it is just out of arms reach. Then she'll come back later and work real hard to get it out. Her little rear end just sticks in the air and she reaches as far under as she can. She has even used other toys to knock them out. It is very cute to watch. She also finished up her second swim session. She really enjoys the water and has become very comfortable in it. It's a fun thing for all of us to do together. There are a few pictures of her in the pool.

Here are some pictures from Halloween and Lauren's trip to the pumpkin patch. She was a little lady bug. We took her to a few freind's homes and then she had fun watching all the kids come to the door. She is finally over her illness. She had a cold, then ear infection, then fever, then allergic reaction to her antibiotic. All said, it took her about 2 weeks to get over all this. Enjoy the pictures!

We went to Nashville last week to visit Aunt Candi, Uncle Ken and cousins Taylor and Mckenzie. Lauren did great on all four legs of the flight, she liked looking out the windows and then she fell asleep. While we were there, Aunt Candi gave her a first haircut and she stood up and balanced by herself. She also had fun playing peek-a-boo with her cousins while Mom and Dad were out on the town Saturday night. Enjoy the pictures!

Some new pictures for you to enjoy. Lauren has been a little busy body lately. She is exploring everything, into the cabinets, under, in, and around furniture. She's been eating all kind of foods, really shoveling it in, just ask Grandpa Jim. We can also get her to clap and wave and say mamamama and dadadada when we do it. She has been cruising on the furniture and walking behind her walker toy. It seems like a lot of stuff, but she is changing every day. Its all very exciting and fun for us! Enjoy the pictures.

We went to Niobrara this weekend and we have some new pictures to share. Lauren and Reece played well together and had a lot of fun in the tub! She also spent some time with Grandma Loewe. Enjoy the pictures!

Well, we have a gate at the top of the stairs but we may need one at the bottom because Lauren likes to climb them. If she is downstairs long enough, she will find them and start climbing. She also is now taking steps behind her little walker toy. She has very good balance until she starts to walk! She also has turned into a bear when we change her diaper or dress her, she just screams bloody murder. She is changing all the time!

Lauren is all over the place and likes to get her toys out of her toy box and then move on to other fun explorations of our house. She has been pulling herself to standing for a while now. She is getting kind of shy around others but warms up quickly. She loves animals. If we are on a walk and she starts talking, that usually means she has spotted an animal and is getting excited. She loves all the neighbor dogs. Lauren's current favorite foods are mashed potatoes, corn, and roast beef. She also has a 4th tooth coming in with two more on there way. Enjoy the new pictures!

Today was Lauren's nine month checkup, everything went fine. She is 17lb 4oz (25%) and 27.25in (50%). She has started to to pull herself up to standing the last few days and really used the sippy cup today. Otherwise, everything is great, she gets a little nervous around others but warms up pretty quick if we are around for a little while.

Looks like Laurens site is back up and working. Somehow the July entries and pictures were lost, I'll put up a few of our favorite from those missing. I also have new pictures form the last few weeks up. She is now crawling all over the place. She likes to go into our closet and play with shoes, as well as behind the chairs in the living room to look down through the stair rails. She's also following her mom all over the house! It's a lot of fun watching her explore everything.

Finally, some new pictures! Lauren had her first illness beyond a stuffy nose last week. She had a fever, cough, runny nose, very little appetite and a lot of spit up. She absolutely did not enjoy the chest x-ray either. She tried to be happy through it all though! Mom has her eating all kinds of things lately, avacado, apple sauce, bananas, squash, peas, carrots, and other things. Her favorite is the apple sauce and green beans make her very uncomfortable. She also has had a few tempor tantrums when we don't let her do things she wants (like chew on the kitchen table) and when she sees the other kids at day care crawl past her and she can't follow. We're thinking she is getting close to being on the go.

Lauren had her 6 month check up yesterday. She is now 15lbs 3oz (40%) and 26 inches (55%). She had no problems with her immunizations this time, she was miserable the day after her last set of shots. Otherwise, she is great little baby for her Mom and Dad. She spent two days with Aunt Haley and two days with Grandma and Grandpa Kohtz while we went on a five year anniversary vacation. She seemed to do better than her parents for that time span!

Some big events happened for Lauren this past week. She cut her first two teeth over the weekend. She did pretty good with that, a lot of chewing and slobbering and a little fussiness. Last Saturday, we took Lauren for her first swim class at our hospital's pool. It's a get to know the water class for 6 month to 3 year olds. She likes the water and doesn't mind going under, but we think she enjoyed watching all the other kids more than anything.

There are some new pictures of Lauren. She spends a lot of time playing in her exersaucer these days, she like reaching and spinnig in it. Some real cute pictures of her sleeping. She has always preferred her side with her hands to her face but will sleep on her back when she is just out of it. The pictures with her Mom are from Mother's day last Sunday. Lauren has begun to expand her dietary palate with sweet potatoes and carrots. She has also been pivoting on her stomach to turn and look at things and is lifting her upper chest off the floor higher than she was before. We think crawling is going to be coming up soon for her.

Its been a while since the last pictures were posted. We've been out of town a lot the last few weeks. Lauren still does good in the car seat but 2 hours seems to be her limit before she has to be out, but we've been good at timing the driving to her naps. She continues to grow and change. She's now starting to sit on her own with only the occassional support and has started to move (only short distances) on her back by pushing off with her feet. We are beginning to think the easy days of no mobility may soon be coming to an end!

We have some new pictures up from Easter. Grandpa and Grandma Kohtz and Aunt Haley came to Kearney because daddy was on call. Her cereal feedings has been going better, she takes food from a spoon and will grab it and try to get it into her mouth herself. That gets pretty messy! We plan on vegetables next. She's rolling now, but only when it serves her a purpose, like to get something to stuff into her mouth!

If you read our comments from March 30, March 31 was completely different. She was very uncomfortable from the immunizations and she also had pink eye. Between the two, she wanted to be held all day and had tears in her eyes the whole time. So sad! These past few days, she has started (attempting)cereal. Its hard to tell how much she is eating because most comes right back out but she is opening her mouth for the spoon and moving it around with her tongue. Other than that, her smiles keep getting bigger when she sees us in the morning and after work and her toys of the moment are her glow worm and a bouncing kitty. She keeps herself entertained with lots of talking, music and dancing.

Lauren had her 4 month check up today, everything went fine. She weighs 12 lbs 6 oz (20%) and is 25.25 (80%) tall. We have been very fortunate to have a little girl who has never been under the weather! Lately she has been stuffing her toys into her mouth and reaching for all kind of things. We're thinking she is starting to understand the whole cause and effect thing. She has also been a real big thumb sucker, I'll try to get a picture of that up because it is pretty cute. But she has a tendency to put so much of her hand in her mouth, she starts to gag! Other big news this week, Jackie is finally part time, working Mon, Wed and Thurs. She is going to love the extra time with her girl!!
